MySQL 5 Update!
The MySQL server has been upgraded to version 5. The mySQLi database connector has also been installed for PHP and should be available for your scripts. As always, contact Support if you experience any issues with this upgrade.

Control Panel Update Our Cpanel control panel has been updated to the new version 11! This version has numerous security, performance, and usability enhancements, in addition to a great new style. PHP5 Upgrade is Live! SPIFFY server is now live with PHP v5.2. The upgrade was quite painless, with no downtime to speak of.

Upgrades
Several software upgrades have been done on SPIFFY server. Perl has been upgraded to version 5.8.7. And mySQL has been upgraded to version 4.1.21. Minor security fix upgrades were completed for Apache and PHP as well. Please notify Support if you have any trouble with your perl scripts, or databases. Also, we will be testing PHP5 for compatibility soon. Depending on how well these tests go, a general upgrade to PHP5 may be coming.

Power Maintenance
A short maintenance downtime period is necessary to correct a power issue that affects SPIFFY server. A maintenance window has been scheduled for Thursday, August 31, 2006, from 0000hrs to 0600hrs CDT, during which time this work will be performed. The server should only be offline for less than 20 minutes between this time, and not for the entire duration.
