We

and all provided at a reasonable price. We don't short ourselves,
and we don't short you. We make sure that everybody wins, since
we like long-term, happy customers.
In
our opinion, we can provide much better web site hosting service
and higher quality support than many of the hosting companies
out there (small and large), and possibly for a lower monthly
price than you currently pay. However, we don't try to compete
on providing the lowest price around. Cut-rate hosting companies
seem more focussed on cramming more and more sites per server
than providing excellent service to their customers.
We
realize that stability and reliability are the highest priority
for customers with sites that they heavily rely on for their business
activities. Whether web hosting, email, or e-commerce, this level
of service is what we strive to provide. A number of our clients
fall into this category and they have been quite happy with the
service they've received from us. We keep our clients for a very
long time, and they even become our friends in that time.
Our
main server is located in a quality datacenter in Texas, (Texas,
being located in the middle of the country, has high speed data
lines to both coasts, ensuring that the entire US has speedy access
to our hosted sites).
The
datacenter provides the equipment and network for us and many
others, so we are able to provide services utilizing very expensive
equipment and a network with much larger capacity than smaller
companies with their own setup can afford. This network we use
currently has 19 Gigabits per second (Gbps) worth of redundant
connections to the internet, with eleven different carriers. The
network has an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) which keeps an
eye on network traffic and has the capability to block most attempts
to compromise or exploit a server. There is also the FloodGuard
system which keeps an eye out for network traffic that is attempting
to DDOS a server. A Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) is where
criminals use large networks of exploited computers on fast connections
(usually worm infected home computers on DSL or Cable) to send
a flood of data to one site in an attempt to overload the site's
connection and prevent legitimate users from accessing it. This
can cause sites to be down for a number of days, possibly even
a week or more if the attacker wishes, and if the network has
no protection. The FloodGuard system is used for detection of
this type of attack, and when an attack is detected, the traffic
is filtered through the Cisco DDOS mitigation equipment which
filters out the invalid and bad traffic and only allows legitimate
traffic through. While you may be unlikely to experience a DDOS
against your own site if it's not a controversial or high profile
site (gaming sites also tend to attract DDOS attacks), it's possible
that someone else on the network may attract such an attack and
cause your site and many others on the same network to be inaccessible
if there is no network level protection.
Redundant
power, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), and generator backup
systems are in place to provide reliable and constant electrical
power. Datacenter technicians monitor the network and servers
24/7, in addition to our own monitoring. We'll be alerted if the
server goes down and can immediately begin taking steps to get
it back up. We use Redhat Enterprise Linux 3, which is a tried
and true, heavily tested, operating system intended for Enterprise
class servers. It's been quite stable and reliable for us, and
security updates are released quickly to fix potential problems
and security issues that are discovered.
Because
of all this, and other features, we've been able to maintain very
near to an average 99.99% uptime for our client's sites, while
still keeping our services affordable. That uptime percentage
allows for less than 4 minutes of downtime per month. This downtime
is usually used when security updates to the webserver or other
critical software is done, or rebooting the server because of
security updates to the operating system. Of course, these 'planned
outages' for maintenance and security are all done during 'off-peak'
hours, usually after midnight PST.

So, as as example, if you have a Standard account and you
